Day 3 - Cleanse

If I am being honest with myself, I am pretty nervous about tomorrow. This is the last day of the cleanse! Soon I will be able to eat normal (but healthy) food! Today I did not get too much water drinking in, which is not good while doing a cleanse. My eating habits today did not follow the guide I was given. I actually had to eat my salad for lunch today because there was no way I was going to have it at dinner tonight. I'm not sure if this will have any effect for eating my meal out of turn, but I feel the effects of not drinking enough water. I feel much heavier today. I told myself I would not weight myself until tomorrow, my goal was to lose five pounds, and to be perfectly honest I'll be surprised if I lose a pound.

Not to get too graphic here, but my "movements" haven't been at all what I thought. Other than having to pee every so often, my bawl movements have been about the same for the last two days, and today they feel worse. I'm hoping I peed out those five pounds.

I haven't mentioned my goal weight, but I would like to lose anywhere between 9 - 14 pounds. So that would leave me anywhere between 125 - 120. If I gain any more weight from that, I want it to be muscle. My plan was to slim down and then build muscle from there. I would like to be closer to 125 before starting Insanity, but I unless my body surprises me tomorrow I won't get ahead of myself.

Today I wanted to go run, but life got in the way and I really didn't have the time to do it. When I run I have to run outside, I am not and will never be a treadmill runner. I can't get any more than a mile out of running on a treadmill. I like to go at my own pace, and also I like being outdoors when I run, so I have to work around being able to run outside. Also I don't run just anywhere, I normally run on the Navy Base because I know the area, I know the trail I go on and how far the distance is. It takes me a little while to get on base. So today that run was not going to happen.

Workout

My roommate has been working out a lot more then I have, and one of the ways she works out is with Jillian Michael DVDs. Last year I was on her website, did the work outs on my own and also the meal plans. I actually enjoyed her circuit trainings. Jillian Michaels is a hot beast (and real motivation, I'd love to have that body).

One of the DVDs my roommate has is "Jillian Michaels 6 Week Six-Pack" which I figured I would give it a try. The workout was only a 35 minutes, which I had the time for. Jillian Michaels is not a joke, she does work you. As it seems with most of these workout DVDs there's a "beginner" person to and an "advance" person to follow. I switched back and forth between the two. I did the level one work out, in which I needed weights for. I don't have any weights of my own so I compromised and used some of my Scentsy catalogs. A pack of 50 catalogs weighted at 7.8 pounds so I used that to work with.

The way the level one is that it started with a simple warm up to get the body moving and the heart pumping, than two sets of circuit training, and ends with some stretching. It got me to sweat. I was moving the entire time. The work outs are not as fast paced as I thought they would be, but it was still a good work out by any means. I took two small water breaks, my hair got crazy and all over the place, and most important my heart rate was up (I do not have a heart rate monitor watch, which is something I do plan to invest in once I get a little bit more cash). Jillian Michaels got me today!

The one thing I did enjoy about this work out was that Jillian Michaels is inspiring. Not just her body or her workouts, but her attitude when it comes to working out. She said one thing that really stuck with me:

"If you can't for take a moment to celebrate what you've done, and the fact that you have made time for yourself to be better, than what is the point? This is about you, take some time to celebrate your workout." - Jillian Michaels

That really got me.

Rest of the day...

After my workout I took a shower and went to school. I prepared my second shake of the day and took it to school with me. Once I got home I began to drink some water, since I have only had about three glasses of water today. I need to drink a lot more water before having my last shake of the night.

Tomorrow is a new day! I'm planning on running on the beach tomorrow, which I am sure will be beautiful.

Have a great day.

"This is about being strong physically, so you are strong in every facet of your life." - Jillian Michaels
