The Path to Healthy: Insanity Day 2 - 3
74Yesterday was such a busy day that I had no time to write. I had decided to volunteer for the 26.2 with Donna today in Florida, I had to get to the site at 4 AM, so I went to sleep at 7 PM and after running around all day had no time. So if anyone was looking forward to this I am sorry for being late.
Yesterday was my 2nd day of Insanity, but the first real workout. This work out was 45 minutes long, and it was Plyometric Cardio Circuit.
Insanity gets its name for a reason. I couldn't believe that this was the first work out. On the bottom part of the page I added a review of the complete work out. I rather give correct facts from Beachbody themselves then to have me explain each work out in detail. I will give a run down of the work out. The Pylometric Cardio Circuit was a true wor out, but I love how Shaun T sets up his workouts, from the warmup, stretch, main work out, and the cool down stretch. He reminds us thoughout the DVD to stop when you need to, to take a break if you have too, but to push to your limit when you are working out. He has a nice voice, which is smooth and understanding.
This workout is more of a "sport" workout with football drills and basketball drills. There is a lot of jumping, but I don't think the jumping part will ever go away when you do Insanity. I suggest to check out the links below to get a true details of the workout. Afterwards I was sweaty, tried, but happy that I was able to get though it. There were a few times that I did have to stop, it was my first video and there was no way I was going to get though it without stopping. It's a hard workout.
The problem I am still facing are not the workouts, but my food intake. I need to eat five meals a day equaling 1800 calories. Yesterday I actually came to 1732, but I just had one big calorie meal (I went to Red Lobster, so it wasn't too unhealthy) because I had to go to sleep early and didn't have enough time for five meals. I am logging all my food intake, I have an iPhone so the app I have is MyFitnessPal, which is a great calorie counter. The best part is that you can scan the barcodes and it comes up with all the nutrient information.
Today was another off day for me, I was volunteering from early morning to early afternoon. I will be the first to say that my nutrients was not good what so ever, I actually went over by 78 calories. This is the part that is going to more work to me than the workouts. Life gets in the way sometimes and it's hard to grab something healthy on a limited budget.
One important lesson about food that I learned today is that I need to work my workouts around my eating. Today was Cardio Power and Resistance, which was not any easier than yesterday's work out. I foolishly ate less then an hour before my work out, I didn't mean for it to happen, but it did.
I was okay for the first 15 minutes of it, but the last 15 minutes my stomach was crapping up. It was hard to move or to even focus. At the end of it I was tried as always, but I knew if I felt better I could have given a lot more then I did. So I learned first hand how important scheduling is.
Today was an off day for me food wise, this week I am going to go shopping and buy everything I need to stay on track and to stay healthy.
The links for the Insanity reviews are below since I did not get into each work out.
I have decided that I will weigh myself every 15 days, but not any time before then. I think this way I won't worry if my weight goes up and down. Hopefully by those 15 days it will be down.
